There will not be a "Wedge" team as fall ball will be loosely structured and more of a "pick up" game situation. We are encouraging all of our 7th and 8th Grade Wedge players to participate in these sessions, which is being organized by the Orange County Chapter of US Lacrosse. http://www.oclacrosse.org/
Orange County Lacrosse Association will not be having a fall season for girls youth lacrosse this year due to limited interest by the club teams.
Winter Season will be held and registration will begin in September 2010

How to Register
Each player must first obtain a US Lacrosse number in order to register for the Newport Wedge club teams. US Lacrosse is a support organization that provides secondary insurance for every player, determines rules and regulations for the game, and trains referees and coaches. Orange County Lacrosse organizes local games, tournaments, and other events. To sign up you will need your credit card.

Register and write down the US Lacrosse number you are given. You will need it when you register for the Newport Wedge. Returning players will need to include the expiration date of their membership.
Fees
Fees are betwee $200 and $300 per player per season, but are subject to change based upon the team size, field fees and schedule. All fees must be paid at the time of registration and can be paid online. Fees include OCLAX team fees, coaching and uniforms. Players are responsible for bringing their own lacrosse stick, mouthguard, goggles, and tennis shoes or cleats to practice.

The Newport Beach Girls Lacrosse team is run by both paid staff and parent volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help organize paperwork, finances, snacks, and fun events. Please email team coordinator Lauren Mulvaney at laurenfm@roadrunner.com if you are interested in helping out.

2009 -2010 Season -
Jul 23, 2009Newport Wedge Girls Lacrosse is pleased announce that it will be fielding at least three teams for the 2009-2010 Orange County Lacrosse League. There will be a team for 2nd - 4th graders ("Lightening" division), 5th and 6th graders ("Juniors") and 7th and 8th graders ("Seniors").
Stay tuned as there is some discussion regarding a Fall season in addition to the existing Winter and Spring seasons.
Newport Wedge is a club team that is primarily comprised of girls from Newport Beach area and is focused on introducing this great sport to the girls. We welcome begginers, so feel free to come to one of our practices, games or clincs to learn more.

Newport Wedge adds a Juniors (5th & 6th graders) team -
Apr 16, 2009Newport Wedge is thrilled to announce that it is adding a 5th & 6th grade team. Lacrosse continues to grrow in popularity througout the US and particularly here in Orange County, CA. OC Lax has expanded its league to include a Juniors division (5th & 6th Grade) and Newport Wedge is pleased to field a team to join the handful of teams already in the division.
Stay tuned as there has been a number of inquiries regarding adding a team to the Lightning division (3rd & 4th graders).
Coach Cujo to Coach Spring 2009 Season -
Mar 10, 2009Coach Cujo Jordan has recently joined the Newport Wedge Girls Lacrosse coaching staff.
Coach Cujo has been involved with lacrosse in the OC area for a number of years, primarily as a referee. The Wedge is pleased to have him as our coach for the Spring 2009 season.
